Hello, Houston! 👋 In this blog post, we are exploring the 2021 protest results for Harris County. Harris County is huge and boasts 1.5 million properties. What's even more surprising is that approximately 427K properties filed a protest in 2021. That's almost one out of every three properties that protested this year!

This year has been great for homeowners who protested their property values, with the success rate hovering around 64%. Furthermore, homeowners saved $1215 💰 on average in property taxes by protesting! The graph below compares the percentage of successful protests (non-zero tax savings) vs. non-successful ones.
As you can see across the board, the success rate is relatively high, especially in Katy and Tomball, which is nearly 72%! I anticipate this trend to continue into 2022 and beyond. Use the form at the bottom of this post to get a detailed protest report for your neighborhood!
